Clinical Training
TIHTC provides professional clinical training programs to physicians, nurses, and medical technicians. During the training, trainees will have the opportunity to observe the instructors and the medical environment and also learn the advanced healthcare management approaches in Taiwan.

ELIGIBILITY
- Hold a valid medical or nursing license, relevant degree, or certification
- Have at least 1 year of medical practice experience in the related field
NOTICE
- No clinical practice is allowed in clinical training programs under 3 months; after 3 months in a hospital, your mentor will assess your ability and may allow you to perform some operations under supervision.
- For clinical training that is longer than 3 months, applicants must apply 3 months prior to the start of the training ; for clinical training that is under 3 months, applicants must apply 2 months prior to the start of the training.
- The maximum training period cannot exceed 1 year.
- If your desired training specialty is not listed above, please send an inquiry email with your CV and study plan to training@tihtc.org.tw.
- Applicants must comply with related epidemic prevention and control measures announced by Taiwan Centers for Disease Control.
- The TIHTC and MOHW reserve the right to make changes to training, including the date, format, course content, and admission requirements.
Fees
Accidental insurance during the training period are subsidized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Trainees need to cover
- Air-ticket
- Living expenses
- Medical insurance
- Training fee: around NT$ 10,000-15,000 per month which will be charged by the training hospital
- Accommodation fee:
- Less than 7 Days: US$ 72 / NT$ 2,000 per person
- Less than 15 Days: US$ 108 / NT$ 3,000 per person
- More than 15 Days~1 month: US$ 180 / NT$ 5,000 per person

International Dermatopathology Training Program
The dermatopathology service in Mackay Memorial Hospital, Taipei is a training center accredited by the International Committee for Dermatopathology since 2015.
The training program provides short-term attachment (less than 6 months) or long-term (6 months to 1 year) observation fellowship. Spaces are limited.
The program provides a comprehensive dermatopathology experience, including daily slide reading, clinico-pathological and academic conferences, immunofluorescence, electron microscope, and access to well-organized dermatopathology slide archives.
Application Procedure
TIHTC encourages applicants to apply as early as possible and make sure all documentation is in order before submission. For clinical training that is longer than 3 months, applicants must apply 3 months prior to the start of the training ; for clinical training that is under 3 months, applicants must apply 2 months prior to the start of the training.
➊ Supporting documents preparation
- Resume or curriculum vitae
- A scanned copy of your passport
- The copy should display clear personal information including your name, date of birth, passport number, and expiration date. Your passport should have 6 months or more validity after the end of your training.
- A scanned copy of a valid medical license (Only Chinese or English translated versions accepted)
- Proof of work experience in medical related field
- Work experience should be more than 1 year, and the proof should be issued within 6 months before the intended starting date of the training (Only Chinese or English translated versions accepted)
- Medical reportsMedical reports should be completed no earlier than 3 months before the intended start date of training. TIHTC will inform you when and what items are required, including:
- Chest X-ray for pulmonary tuberculosis
- Hepatitis B status
- Serological test for syphilis
- Certificate or proof of positive measles antibody or measles vaccination
- Certificate or proof of positive rubella antibody or rubella vaccination
- Other medical reports according to current regulations
- An ID photo
- Two-inch ID color photo with white background, and at least 1062 x 826 pixels (taken within 6 months)
- One or more letters of recommendation
- The letter should be dedicated to the training you apply for, with the signature of the referee within 6 months before the intended starting date of the training.
- A scanned copy of a diploma or degree relevant to the field of medicine
- International medical insurance
- An international medical insurance covering all your training period is required
- Valid English certificate
- Valid English proficiency certification or a self-introductory video in English (3-5 minutes)
- Others
- Copies of any other licenses or certifications relevant to the training you are applying for
➋ Fill out the application form and upload documents
- In case of missing documents, the applicant is required to submit them within 2 weeks of receiving notice, otherwise the application will be considered invalid and may be rejected.
➌ Application review
- For Training arrangement, TIHTC will match the applicants with the training hospital(s) according to the applicant's study plan.
- Application reviews are conducted jointly by TIHTC, training hospitals, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Other supplementary documents may be required at this stage.
- The whole reviewing process may take up to 2 months.
➍ Acceptance
- Upon receiving the final results of your application from the MOHW, TIHTC will notify applicants via email and send the official acceptance letter.
- International medical insurance covering the whole training period is required.
