Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (TIHTC) was established in 2002 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), and executed by Taipei Hospital, MOHW. With the belief that “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”, TIHTC integrates the health capability in Taiwan and keeps providing continuing education trainings for healthcare professionals around the world in Taiwan. The trainings enable professionals to further acquire knowledge and experience. With the goal of contributing to the international community, the Center now can provide training to more than a hundred international medical, healthcare, and administration personnel per year.
Goals:
Strive to fulfill the ideologies of “the right to health must be enjoyed without discrimination on the grounds of race, age, ethnicity or any other factor” as declared by the World Health Organization, as well as play a contributing role in the international community
Promote the visibility of Taiwan through continuous effort in the healthcare training of professionals, international emergency aid, and medical assistance
Trained over 2,000 international healthcare professionals from 77 countries
Signed partnership and cooperation agreements in international healthcare development with 39 medical institutions in 10 countries
Received over 1,300 international delegates from 68 partner countries
Held and participated in nearly 100 domestic and international symposiums, seminars, conferences, and webinars
Completed 24 rescue missions in 26 countries
