      Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (TIHTC)
      • In 2011, Taipei Hospital established the first international health care exhibition center in Taiwan to commemorate its achievements in training and international cooperation. By the unwavering eff orts of Taipei Hospital, it received the Bronze Award of 2012 National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality Award, recognizing TIHTC as the top international health care personnel training institution in Taiwan. In 2016, TIHTC won the “First International Medical Model Prize” Group Award. The Center welcomed its 15th anniversary in 2017, celebrating with its alumni around the world.

        Establish official medical institutions for cooperation in building positive, cooperative, and comprehensive relationships in ten countries including India, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Marshall Islands, Mongolia, the Philippines, Russia, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam with their national healthcare institutions, education institutions, government agencies and international NGOs.

      • Indonesia

        2021

        Taipei Hospital held online MOU signing ceremonies with Sultan Agung Islamic University and the University of Muhammadiyah Kudus of Indonesia to further the collaborative relationship between the medical institutions.

        2020


        TIHTC collaborated with UMKU, the Indonesian Associations of Pharmacist, Nursing, Public Health, and Midwifery to host a series of webinars during COVID-19 pandemic. Over 1,200 healthcare professionals joined 4 webinars on the topics of Alternative Medicine, Public Health & Tuberculosis, Optimization Elderly Mental Health, and Midwifery Nutritional Status of Children.

        2019

        Public Health Advisory Assembly, Muhammadiyah East Java Regional, Indonesia invited TIHTC to jointly host “Indonesia International Advance Healthcare Management Workshop” and Signing Ceremony of MOU, strengthening the bilateral medical and health exchanges and cooperation.

        2018

        In December 2018, TIHTC had the pleasure of receiving 33 board members of Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institution (MHEI) from Indonesia, Dr. Lincolin Arsyad, the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education Research and Development of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah. During the visit, Dr. Lincoln Arsyad and TIHTC further signed a cooperative agreement as the first step to a long-term friendship.

        2017

        On March 22nd, 2017, the signing ceremony was hosted by Superintendent Dr. Hsu, witnessed by PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital delegation led by Director Dr. Achmad Feisol. The effort was to expand the bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Indonesia.

        2016

        In order to strengthen the medical exchange, Taipei Hospital and APDFI signed an MOU on April 20th, in hopes to recommend pharmacists to study in Taiwan and bring the techniques back to Indonesia to enhance the effectiveness of the bilateral cooperation.

        2012

        On October 23th 2012, the Taipei Hospital delegation visited Aisyiyah Health Sciences College Yogyakarta and signed MOU.

        2010

        Taipei Hospital signed a sister hospital agreement with the Dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital, and jointly held the “International Care Management Conference”. In cooperation with the Elite Study in Taiwan Program Office, and visited Jakarta and Aceh to host the “Taiwan higher education orientation” that demonstrated Taiwan’s healthcare achievements and training results of the healthcare professionals.

        2009

        Taipei Hospital was invited to visit Indonesian local hospitals, university hospitals, nursing colleges, and health centers so as to understand their healthcare facilities and policies. The Seminar on Hospital Management was jointly held and Taipei Hospital shared the experience of successful integration of MOHW affiliate hospitals and information management.

        2009

        The Director of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Yogyakarta led a delegation to visit Taiwan and signed a sister hospital agreement to commence long-term relationship between Taiwan and Indonesia.

      • Vietnam

        2022

        Taipei Hospital held online MOU signing ceremonies with Cho Ray Hospital of Vietnam on September 30th, 2022. To further the collaborative relationship between the medical institutions.

        2019

        The agreement serves to initiate and extend the trust and cooperation between Dong Thap Medical College and Taipei Hospital, MOHW. On the basis of mutual benefits, the two institutions agree on undertaking a wide range of exchanges and cooperation in various forms to further enhance and contribute to the friendship between the people of Vietnam and Taiwan.

        2017

        TIHTC provided clinical and project training courses for physicians and administrators from University Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since 2017. In order to extend partnership and healthcare exchange, University Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City signed an MOU with Taipei Hospital on August 3rd, 2017.

      • Thailand

        2017

        Mahidol University has also won high acclaim for its outstanding achievements in teaching, research and professional services. In 2016, TIHTC was commissioned to arrange Healthcare Management Leadership Project Training by Mahidol University.

        On account of the positive feedback from the participants, in July of 2017, a group of 29 members led by Dr. Mathuros Tipayamongkholgul attended TIHTC Project Training. In November 2017, Mahidol University signed an MOU with Taipei Hospital to serve as the contact window of TIHTC in Thailand. In the near future, TIHTC will develop its relationships with hospitals and healthcare institutions in Thailand to collaborate on international healthcare training and services.

      • Philippines

        2018

        In November 2018, TIHTC further strengthened its healthcare cooperation with the Philippines and signed an MOU with the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, one of the Department of Health of the Philippines’ affiliated institutions.

        2017

        In April, 2017, Taipei Hospital officially signed an MOU with 2 public hospitals affiliated to the Department of Health of the Philippines, namely the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital and Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital.

        2016

        On October 25th, 2016, Assistant Secretary of Health, Dr. Maria Fancia M. Laxaman from the Philippines' DOH led supervising Health Program Officer Ms. Jeanne Bernas, Food and Drug Administration Senior Supervisor, Engr. Bayani San Juan, visited TIHTC together with Ms. Catrina L. Naguiat from the Manila Economic and Cultural Office.

        2015

        On July 27th, 2015, the Philippines delegation led by Executive Director Dr. Jose Luis J. Danguilan from the Lung Center of the Philippines made an official visit to Taipei Hospital, MOHW. The center is the national lung center in the Philippines that provides treatments for lung and pleural diseases, research, and training of specialists. During the visit, both sides discussed and exchanged views on the main areas of cooperation and created grounds for further communication. The collaboration agreement was later signed on November 27th, 2015.

        2014

        To promote Taiwan-Philippines healthcare cooperation, the MOHW signed the “MOU on Health Cooperation between Taiwan and the Philippines”. Based on the cooperative relationship, TIHTC visited the Philippines in October, 2014.

        2013

        TIHTC led a delegation of six with Global Medical Instruments Support and Service Program (GMISS) and visited the Philippines for international healthcare exchange. During the trip, the delegation visited the Philippines Department of Health and local health institutions.

        2012

        The Philippines Department of Health delegation of five visited Taipei Hospital to further learn about the TIHTC’s results and discuss future cooperation and training.

        2012

        Taipei Hospital joined the delegation led by Health Minister Chiu to the Philippines to engage in Taiwan-Philippines bilateral cooperation meetings. During the meetings, seven agreements were finalized. The signings signified the strengthening of bilateral relationship between Taiwan and the Philippines.

      • Mongolia

        2020

        To provide nurses in Mongolia greater access to complementary and continuing education, the memorandum of understanding was signed with the Union of Creative Doctors, Mongolia on February 24th, 2020 at Taipei Hospital, Taiwan. Taipei Hospital received three representatives from the Union of Creative Doctors for the signing ceremony. The MOU is an essential foundation to which future cooperation in ICU clinical training will be built upon.

        2020

        TIHTC and Taipei Hospital co-organized a webinar on discussing and sharing Taiwan’s experience on COVID-19 testing, treatment, and prevention strategies with public health officials and medical professionals from the State Second Central Hospital, Mongolia.

        2017

        On March 10th, 2017, with Mr. Daimaa Batsaikhan, the governor of Zavkhan Province witnessing, Superintendent Dr. Jiin-Chyr Hsu of Taipei Hospital and Director Dr. Tsogzolmaa of the General Hospital of the Zavkhan Province signed the agreement and was reported by local media.

        2017

        A sister hospital partnership was established through an MOU between Taipei Hospital, MOHW and the Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center of Khovd, and signed by Director Dr. Bayartogtokh Tuumuu of the Center and Superintendent Dr. Jiin-Chyr Hsu on March 8th 2017. The MOU is an essential foundation to which future bilateral healthcare cooperation will be built upon.

        2017

        Taipei Hospital cooperated with Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission to donate medical equipment, assist the establishment of hemodialysis center, and provide clinical training for medical professionals in western Mongolia, including the Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center Khovd Province, the Central Hospital of UVS Province, and the General Hospital of the Zavkhan Province.

        2016

        In July 2016, Mr. Nurakhmyet Sanatbyek, the Deputy Governor and delegations represented the Central Hospital of BAYAN-ULGII Province to establish a cooperation relationship with the Taipei Hospital. The bilateral cooperation will expand clinical training, technical guidance, administration management, and other diversified nurturing methods to share Taiwan’s advanced healthcare technologies and comprehensive healthcare education experiences with Mongolia and effectively enhance the medical personnel and techniques in Mongolia.

        2016

        On July 6th, the Center for Health Development, Ministry of Health of Mongolia visited the TIHTC and expressed their intention for cooperation. On October 25th, Dr. Ch. Bat-Erdene, Director of the Center for Health Development signed an MOU with Taipei Hospital, in hopes of strengthening the bilateral cooperation, and continuing the training programs for Mongolia's medical personnel in Taiwan.

        2015

        In 2015, collaborating with the Global Medical Instruments Support and Service (GMISS), medical engineering experts and nephrology physician were dispatched to assess and investigate in Khovd Province in late November. The visit meant to assist the local hospital in establishing a dialysis center. Further future assistance will be provided to assist the hospital in the training of nephrology staff for the operation of the dialysis center, maintenance, and emergency response.

        The medical team of Taipei Hospital was invited to Shastin Central Hospital of Ulaanbaatar City to train 33 cardiologists from remote areas in basic and advanced cardiovascular resuscitation.

        Sign Sister Hospital Agreement with the Regional Diagnosis and Treatment Center of South Gobi Province, Mongolia

        2011

        TIHTC jointly held the international seminar with the Mongolia Ministry of Health and Second General Hospital. More than 80 medical professionals attended the event, and almost half of them were TIHTC’s alumni.

        Sign MOU with the First Maternity Hospital of Mongolia

        2007

        In order to improve the knowledge and technique of Mongolian cardiologists, the government of Luxembourg International Project Adviser invited Taipei Hospital and TIHTC as partners to organize training courses with National Cardiovascular Center, Mongolia for Mongolian cardiologists and nurses.

        2006

        TIHTC was invited to deliver a speech in Mongolia that received wide recognition by the attendees. During the visitation, the medical team of Taipei Hospital also provided a voluntary clinic at the Second General Hospital.

        2005

        Taipei Hospital signed a sister hospital agreement with the Second General Hospital, and donated rehabilitation equipment as well as provided ACLS training courses during the visitation.

      • Russia

        2020

        TIHTC and Taipei Hospital co-organized a webinar on discussing and sharing Taiwan’s experience on COVID-19 testing, treatment, and prevention strategies with public health officials and medical professionals from Ulyanovsk, Russia.

        2019

        Dr. Svetlana Suvorova on behalf of Ulyanovsk Regional Clinical Center for Specialized Types of Medical Care Behalf of the Honored Doctor of Russia E. Chuchkalov and the superintendent of Taipei Hospital signed an MOU on guidelines of cooperation and agreed on the nature and cooperative intentions of institutions on both sides.

        2018

        Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission referred Dr. Irina Bazhutova, head of the Department of Dentistry of Samara State Medical University (SamSMU) to apply for both Healthcare Management Leadership Training Program and clinical training programs in Dentistry at TIHTC. In the spirit of mutual understanding and long-term friendship between the Russian Federation and Taiwan, Dr. Irina representing the SamSMU formalized the cooperative relationship with Taipei Hospital by signing an agreement of cooperation.

        2016

        Since 2007 the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission has been cooperating with TIHTC to enhance the communication with the Republics of Kalmykia, Buliyate, and Tuva of the Russian Federation, and invited the public hospitals to recommend doctors to train in Taiwan. To date, 11 terms of training and 64 specialists were trained. The MOU was then signed on November 22nd with the Zhemchuev P.P. Republican Hospital, Kalmykia.

      • India

        2017

        In order to improve the knowledge and technique of Chinese medicine, Dr. Mamatha Rani applied for the International Acupuncture Project Training Program and later joined clinical training at TIHTC. On behalf of the Purnaa Foundation, Dr. Mamatha Rani requested to sign the cooperation agreement with Taipei Hospital for further medical exchange.

        2017

        In December 2017, the Taiwanese professionals consisting of Taipei Hospital, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, and Taipei City Hospital visited the southern parts of India to hold free clinics and healthcare seminars so as to exchange opinions on traditional Chinese medicine with experts in India.

      • U.S.A

        2011

        Since 2011, Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine has partnered with TIHTC to offer its top medical students to participate in international clinical training in Taiwan. To deepen the cooperative training relationship, an updated MOU was signed in 2018 to expand the partnership and further nurture international healthcare professionals.
