      Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (TIHTC)
      • Clinical Program

        TIHTC provides professional clinical training programs to physicians, nurses, and medical technicians. During the clinical training program, participants will have a firsthand opportunity to observe the instructors, medical environment as well as healthcare management approaches in Taiwan.

         

        Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Dentistry, Dermatology, Diagnostic Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Hematology, Immunology & Rheumatology, Infection Control, Internal Medicine,
        Laboratory Medicine, Microsurgery, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nursing, Nutrition, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, Pain Medicine, Pathology, Pediatric, Pharmacy, Plastic Surgery,

        ELIGIBILITY

        • Healthcare practitioners with at least 1 year of medical practice experience
        • Holding a valid related medical license

         

        NOTICE

        • If your desired training department is not listed above, please send an inquiry email at training@tihtc.org.tw
        • Applicants must apply 3 months prior to the start of the training program
        • The maximum training period cannot exceed 1 year
        • As per local regulations, clinical practice is not allowed in clinical training programs under 3 months. For clinical training programs over 3 months, clinical practice by the trainees require approval from the supervising instructor
        • Applicants must comply with related epidemic prevention and control measures announced by Taiwan Centers for Disease Control
        • The TIHTC and MOHW reserve the right to change the date of the program, course content, and admission requirements
        • Training programs and relevant requirements may be adjusted without notice to meet MOHW policy / CDC’s epidemic guidelines.

         

        Fees

        Accidental insurance during the training period are subsidized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

        Trainees need to cover

        1. Air-ticket
        2. Living expenses
        3. Medical insurance
        4. Training fee: around NT$ 10,000-15,000 per month which will be charged by the training hospital
        5. Accommodation fee:
        • Less than 7 Days: US$ 72 / NT$ 2,000 per person
        • Less than 15 Days: US$ 108 / NT$ 3,000 per person
        • More than 15 Days~1 month: US$ 180 / NT$ 5,000 per person

         

        Special Announcement

        International Dermatopathology Training Program

        The dermatopathology service in Mackay Memorial Hospital, Taipei is a training center accredited by the International Committee for Dermatopathology since 2015.

         

        The training program provides short-term attachment (less than 6 months) or long-term (6 months to 1 year) observation fellowship. Spaces are limited.

         

        The program provides a comprehensive dermatopathology experience, including daily slide reading, clinico-pathological and academic conferences, immunofluorescence, electron microscope, and access to well-organized dermatopathology slide archives.

        Digital Health Project Training Program

        Emergency Care & Burn Injuries Management Project Training Program

        This training is co-organized by Taiwan Society of Emergency Medicine and Taiwan Society for Burn Injuries and Wound Healing

         

        Emergency care is an essential part of the health system and serves as the first point of contact for the acutely ill and injured around the world.

         

        In the New Taipei Water Park dust explosion incident in 2015, where over 500 patients were burned with an average body surface of 40%, the prompt emergency response and timely treatment managed to keep the death toll at a minimum. The objective of this program is to improve the concepts and skills in managing emergency care of the frontline healthcare providers.

        Taiwan is well-known and ranked as the country with the most affordable and accessible National Health Insurance (NHI) in the world. The objectives of this program are to improve concepts and skills in healthcare management, the development of national health insurance policy, promote leadership and intellectual development in management of international healthcare affairs, and facilitate international exchanges on healthcare affairs.         Customized project training programs can encompass healthcare related topics,such as disease prevention strategies, national health insurance, healthcare management, epidemiology and communicable diseases, emergency care,as well as health information technology. All programs are instructed by top medical professionals in Taiwan.

      • Application Procedure

        Step 1. Please prepare the following documentation for your application

        1. Supporting Documents

          1. A scanned copy of your passport with clear information including your name, date of birth, passport number and expiration date
          2. A passport-sized photo (scanned copy)
          3. Resume or curriculum vitae
          4. One or more letters of recommendation dedicated to the program you apply for
          5. A scanned copy of a diploma or degree relevant to the field of medicine
          6. Copies of any other licenses, certifications or awards relevant to the program you are applying
            Additional Documents Required for Clinical Training
          7. A scanned copy of a medical license
          8. Proof of work experience in medical related fields for more than 1 year that is issued within 6 months before the application date (Chinese or English translated versions accepted).
          9. Health report
            Health report should be made no earlier than 3 months by the intended starting date of the training
            1. Chest X-ray for pulmonary tuberculosis
            2. Hepatitis B status
            3. Serological test for syphilis
            4. Certificate or proof of positive measles antibody or measles vaccination
            5. Certificate or proof of positive rubella antibody or rubella vaccination
            6. Other laboratory examinations or vaccination certificates in addition to the above may be required based on the training hospitals and Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
        2. Valid English Certificate

          1. Valid English proficiency certification or a self-introductory video in English (3-5 minutes)

         

         

        Step 2. Complete the online 2022 TIHTC application form and upload all the required documentation

         

         

        Step 3. Application review process

         

        TIHTC will collect and confirm that all required application and documentation are received and in order. Applications will be forwarded to the MOHW for official review, and TIHTC will update you of the application status accordingly. Applications with incomplete documents will not be viewed nor accepted.


        Since your application will be forwarded and checked by TIHTC, training hospitals, and the MOHW, the process would take some time. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible and make sure all documentation is in order before submission. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

         

         

        Step 4. Application results

         

        Upon receiving final results of your application from the MOHW, TIHTC will notify applicants via email accordingly.

         

         

        NOTICE

        • The MOHW, TIHTC and the training hospitals may require other documents for review
        • An international medical insurance covering all your training period will be required
